STOCKSNSKINS are a Bournemouth based duo, comprising of Ade on vocals and Rich on bass. After forming in May 2016, the two began fashioning intricately pulsating post-punk infused electronic beats and synth mixes, the vocal and musical strands building on the solid foundations provided by Rich's rumbling basslines.

Their spoken word scenescapes are firmly rooted in their surroundings, experiences and daily lives as heard on previous release, Them Today. LouderThanWar described this exciting duo’s musical output as “… beat poetry with even more blast, John Cooper Clarke meets an even more jilted generation. Then ramped up with electronica and turned up – LOUD.”

Summer Blue Skies – the lead track from their new three track EP - sees the band take to new heights, with the duo sublimely creating an evocative and emotive tapestry of working-class life in their eloquent yet grounded manner, all set to their now trademark take on urban beats and breaks.

Reminiscent of those summer days that you’d though would go on forever, the track relives those moments where boyhood and manhood meet, a catalogue of scenes and scenarios to be navigated – successfully or otherwise – to survive a system that feels set up to restrict your life choices.

Avoiding the more robust and bellicose route employed by so many musical contemporaries to communicate the frustration and anger that comes from being on the fringes of society and success, the lyrics offer a personal, passionate take on the life many young people have no choice but to live.

15 Sliders takes the sleazy romance of Soft Cell and a bassline that’d wouldn’t go amiss on a post-punk classic and marries them with more urban grit as it lays wide the pressures of a man to feel his way in the world.

The final track on the EP, Short Back ‘n’ Sides, also has echoes of the early 80s, but takes a trip, musical and otherwise, through memories of classic songs and resonant life experiences with which many of us can identify.

The Dizzy Heights EP is released on the 2nd of November via AnalogueTrash. It will be available on all good digital outlets and streaming services, as well as directly via the label’s Bandcamp store.
